LONE PINE, Inyo County — November 4, 2026. The first November 3 election results include two separate Lone Pine Unified School District governing board contests: a full-term election for three seats and a special two-year term race. They involve different ballots and should not be combined.
Three seats in the regular contest
According to the 8:00 p.m. Inyo County first semi-official report, Cord Hunter led with 207 candidate selections (27.94%), followed by Scott W. Kemp with 201 (27.13%) and Rachel Yourgules with 154 (20.78%). Greg Rickets received 115 and Joseph Benton 64. At this stage the gap between third and fourth positions was 39 candidate selections.
Special two-year term
Dominic P. Smith had 112 votes (42.42%) in the separate special contest, Alex Quezada 84 (31.82%), and Sally Clausen 68 (25.76%). These votes do not add to the regular three-seat count.
Counting continues
For both contests the first county report had zero precincts reporting and included only already-processed early ballots. Additional polling-place, mailed and provisional ballots may change rankings. Voters should consult Inyo County Elections for current reports and final certification.
First report timestamp: 8:00 p.m. Pacific, November 3, 2026. No final winner announced.
